Leading Real Estate Innovation with PADS
Between January 2020 and July 2021, I served as Technical Lead at PADS, a digital-first real estate agency specialized in luxury property listings in Colombia. My mission was to shape and scale a platform that empowered brokers, streamlined operations, and provided exceptional digital experiences to buyers and renters.
🏗️ Technical Leadership & Scalable Architecture
I directed the architecture and development of a modular system composed of a landing website, a back-office platform, and a mobile application for brokers. Each component was tailored to the unique workflows of our real estate operation, from advanced property filtering to geolocation and offline access.
📈 Key Results Included
- 📊 Drove 50% growth in monthly active users through the launch of a performant and user-centric search experience.
- 🧠 Directed a multidisciplinary team, delivering features like advanced search, property management dashboards, and i18n support with high velocity.
- 🔐 Implemented OAuth-based secure authentication and internationalization, enabling multilingual support and improved user trust.
- 🛰️ Integrated Google Maps API across mobile and web, powering location-aware features such as property heatmaps and broker navigation tools.
🛠️ Stack and Technical Highlights
We built a robust and modular ecosystem across multiple platforms:
- Frontend: Used React.js with Next.js, Redux, Styled Components, and SASS to deliver a performant public-facing website with SEO-friendly routing and internationalization.
- Mobile: Built a cross-platform React Native app to empower brokers with access to their portfolio, even on the go. Integrated features included push notifications, live updates, and offline caching.
- Infrastructure: Deployed via Docker and hosted on AWS, with CI/CD powered by GitHub Actions. Ensuring high availability and deployment automation.
Working at PADS allowed me to apply deep product thinking to the real estate sector, combining thoughtful UX with robust technical execution. From enabling location-aware mobile tools for field brokers to building elegant and scalable search for high-end customers, this project was a blend of performance, usability, and domain-specific complexity.
